uCook Class Information
With approval from Alberta Health Services, we were granted permission to hold in-person demo and hands-on cooking classes with a strict guideline of health and safety measures assuring we are within the provincial protocol of Public Health Safety. This will include the proper social distancing, wearing of correct PPE during the class, dismissal and pick-up of the client if symptoms or signs of illness are present, prohibiting the sharing of food and beverages, and high touch/communal surfaces properly cleaned and disinfected. We have also added the extra safety measure of another adult facilitator, other than the main instructor, to make sure these guidelines are upheld during the duration of the class.
Please read terms and conditions and refund policy. Class purchases will close 48 hours before the class date. Once your order has been placed, we will send you a Welcome Email that contains further details of the class. Each class must meet a minimum attendance in order to proceed. If a class is cancelled within 48 hours of the class date, a Facilitator will reach out to give you options to either receive a 50% refund or move your spot to another class (pending availability). If our company cancels your child's class, based on unforeseen circumstances, you will have the option to receive a full refund or move your spot to another class (pending availability).
Children thrive in an environment where they are learning and having fun. uCook Hands-On for Kids are primarily for children between ages 8-13 (with a few classes per week for students in Grades 9-12) where they will acquire valuable cooking and kitchen skills while learning to put together an entree, appetizer, and/or dessert. Each class is organized to establish the child's baseline of kitchen skills and to build on their strengths. They will learn:
- Safety with kitchen supplies and equipment
- Proper hygiene and cleanliness with kitchen tools and ingredients
- World cuisines and their diverse ingredients, flavours and spices
- The intricacies of baking pastries, desserts
- The art of plating and presentation; and so much more.
We created a fun and interactive learning environment that will have your children beaming with excitement and confidence when they learn to cook or bake from a team of professional chefs. Each class will reflect a specific cuisine or dessert taught by either Chef Waylon or Chef Bridget. We know your children will absolutely enjoy it!
